Steve Winkler’s connection to Gooseneck Implement runs deep—he grew up around his family’s dealership, which later became part of the Gooseneck family, giving him a lifelong perspective on the business. From an early age, he gained firsthand experience in what it takes to keep a dealership running smoothly. When Gooseneck acquired the dealership, Steve recognized an opportunity to grow within a company that shared his values and dedication to customers and employees—and he’s been building his career there ever since.

For Steve, Genuine Passion means showing up every day to make things right and ensure smooth operations for both customers and employees. “It’s about helping wherever needed, making sure work gets done correctly, and keeping the ship running efficiently,” he says.

Genuine Gratitude shows up daily in the Elgin store. Steve takes pride in the hard work and dedication of his team, especially in mentoring younger employees and helping them grow. “We wouldn’t be where we are without our employees. Watching them succeed and knowing we’ve supported that growth is incredibly rewarding,” he shares.

He is most proud of the culture his team has built in Elgin. “We’ve created an environment that attracts great people, encourages teamwork, and focuses on doing right by the customer.” Helping customers succeed is also a highlight of Steve’s role. “Providing solutions and support to keep their operations running smoothly is what it’s all about,” he says.



Something people might be surprised to learn about Steve? His drive is exceptionally high—he’ll keep going until a job is done, which can sometimes make it a challenge to align with others. But that same determination has helped him tackle big projects and lead his team through busy seasons successfully. Outside of work, Steve enjoys keeping busy with hobbies like golf, bowling, fishing, and hunting, and he makes sure to balance that with quality time spent with his family. Whether it’s on the water, on the course, or at home, Steve brings the same focus and energy to his personal life as he does to the dealership, making every moment count.
